ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – NAI Realvest/Charles Wayne Commercial recently brokered the sale of the remainder of Ellinor Village Shopping Center, which at one time was part of the largest family resort in Florida.

The property, located at 600 S. Atlantic Avenue, was purchased by Dages Holdings, LLC, of Aventura, Fla. The purchase includes a single-tenant building most recently occupied by Stacy’s Buffet as well a multi-tenant building occupied by Family Dollar. The buyers paid $1,958,95.68 for the property.

Brian Adair, Ted Lightman and James O’Connor of NAI Realvest/Charles Wayne Commercial represented both the buyer and the seller in the transaction. The buyers plan to redevelop the 32,985 square foot center.

“There is tremendous momentum in the Volusia commercial market,” Adair said. “Rising average daily rates in the beachside hotels has brought in new hotel development. Combine that with the new retail and and residential development on the west side of Daytona Beach, and it means there are investors watching this market closely.”

Volusia County bought the southern half of Ellinor Village two years ago with plans to demolish the improvements and convert the property to off-beach parking.

Opened in 1949, the Ellinor Village resort featured 660 cottages and apartments for rent. It also hosted the national Mrs. America contest in 1954.
